"Orphans preferred" ... Imagine what the Federal
Dept. of Labor would have to say about that today.
There were only about 80 of these tough little SOBriders in service at any one time.
The Pony Express was in service from April 1860
to November 1861. Killed off by the telegraph during
the first year of the War Between the States;
just like the digital camera has killed off Kodak.
The Best Pubs Are Irish:
"As good as this bar is," said the Scotsman,
In Glasgow , there's a wee place called McTavish's.
When you buy four drinks, he'll buy the fifth drink."
Then, when you've had enough drinks, they'll take you upstairs and see dat you gets laid, all on the house!"
The Englishman and Scotsman were suspicious of the claims.
"Did this actually happen to you,Paddy ?"
"Not me meself, personally, no," admitted the Irishman,

Australia passed strict gun control laws in 1996. They
bought back, or confiscated, then destroyed millions
of firearms. Today, 5.2% of the people (765,000) own
long guns for hunting, sport shooting etc. A license is
required after a 28 day waiting period. Maximum 10 round
magazines for handguns.
How is that working out?
Here is a report from a Follies reader,
Mr. Bob Richards, just back from Australia:
"When we arrived we were surprised that the U.S. didn’t get more time on their TV networks. But, the news was all the same; infighting in their political parties, politicians being tried for fraud and sexual harassment, etc. Appears the Aussies have their own set of problems.
One interesting item, guns have been banned from Australia for many years. Residents were actually forced to turn in their guns.
Strangely “every” night on the local news there was a murder, or drive-by shooting, etc. Surely they must be kidding…there are no guns there. Your Follies readers might enjoy knowing it." ~ RMR
In the U.S. today, there are about 270 million guns,
owned by 30% of our 300 million population, down
from a high of 50% in the 1970s.
