Chief Justice Roberts: It's a Tax, Stupid!
Liberal Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsberg: "Let them eat broccoli."
By Carl Cannon:
Now it’s all up to the voters, which John Roberts himself noted is exactly where it belongs.
“Members of this court are vested with the authority to interpret the law; we possess neither the expertise nor the prerogative to make policy judgments,” the chief justice wrote in his riveting majority opinion. “Those decisions are entrusted to our nation’s elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. Don't Just Do Something ... Stand There!
Rare: Both torsos touch finish line at same time.
US sprinters Allyson Felix and Jeneba Tarmoh both crossed the finish line in exactly 11.068 seconds on Sunday to tie for third place in the final of the women's 100 meter Olympics qualifier.
The dead-heat finish is a first for US Olympic track and field leaving the coveted third Olympic team spot in doubt. If neither athlete declines her position on the Olympic team then a tie-breaker will be determined by a coin toss or run-off.
