Ms. Bubba Billary for Prez: "Why? You won't have to pay me as much."
Remember President Tom Vilsack of Iowa? His slogan: "From those wonderful folks who brought you Herbert Hoover."
The Friday Follies 'Real Man of the Year.'
Won't be long now ...
Senators having fun. Is it about time to swap places?
The Diversity-Justice Brothers: There is no place in a new Democrat administration for this over-the-top duo. The Age of Obama has ushered in over-due, race-neutral rhetoric. Too bad for the Reverends, they were expecting to be Secretaries of Commerce and Treasury, cutting out some of the middle men.
No wonder TIME calls it their 'Person' of the Year award.
Remember the brilliant Immigration bill these senators cooked up in 2007?
And of course, Al will be a barrel of laughs again in '08.
From the Senate to the White House?
Finally, in the New Year, as the '08 campaign heats up and we get all excited about perhaps electing someone from the U.S. Senate, please be advised that only two senators have gone directly to the White House. Warren Harding in 1920 and John Kennedy in 1960. Strangely enough, they both died in office during their first term. [Eleven other senators became president after they'd left the Senate.]
So, for 218 possible years, all those senators looked in the mirror every morning and told themselves, "You should be the President." Nevertheless, don't bet on any of the senators this year. Your best bet is a ex-governor or mayor. (Please give 20% of your winnings to the Salvation Army.)
